Farewell to the Last Stop, Mom, I Want to Eat Lion's Head Meatballs

After dinner, the children were all bouncing around in the living room. The eight Murray brothers were rare to gather together, chatting on the first floor while watching Susie play with Lucy.

Mrs. Alana looked around silently and went upstairs. All the children were here this year, except Clara, but there was a new addition, Susie.

It seemed as if nothing had changed, and the Murray family was back to being joyful like it was five years ago.

As July 14 approached, Clara would come up. The children were all cooking delicious food for her, and the table was filled with dishes that Clara liked to eat.

The older brothers would also start lighting incense like Susie before meals.

Will Mrs. Alana be able to see Clara one last time before she passes away?

Mrs. Alana went back to her room and stood silently in front of the window, looking at the night outside.

Mr. Craig put down his reading glasses and asked, "What's wrong?"

Mrs. Alana said nothing.

Mr. Craig shrugged. He couldn't understand this woman, who was still so sentimental even at her age.

At this moment, the door was lightly knocked.

Mrs. Alana thought it might be one of Martin's group or Susie, so she adjusted her expression and went out, pretending to be the chatty old woman she usually was.

"Who is it?" she asked as she walked towards the door.

"Are you playing downstairs? What happened, did something come up?"

The door opened, and Mrs. Alana's pupils contracted as she completely froze!

Mr. Craig didn't hear Mrs. Alana speak for a while and saw her standing at the door like she had lost her soul.

He stood up and asked with a frown, "What's wrong? Have you lost your mind again?"

He didn't dare to say, "seeing a ghost."

But when he walked out and saw the figure outside the door, he also froze.

Clara...?!

Mr. Craig stood still, his fingers stiff, not daring to move even a little bit.

He must be seeing things.

But if he could see Clara, even if it was a hallucination, he could look a little longer...

Mrs. Alana's lips trembled, and tears suddenly welled up, blurring her eyes. She hesitantly reached out her hand and touched Clara's cheek.

Clara grabbed Mrs. Alana's hand and choked, "Mom..."

Mrs. Alana couldn't hold back anymore, and a tear fell, afraid that if she cried and couldn't see Clara, she quickly wiped it away.

"Clara... Clara, you're back?" Mrs. Alana touched Clara's cheek; her trembling voice unable to hide her concern.

"Clara, have you eaten? What did you eat? Are you warm enough over there?"

Like in the past, Mrs. Alana kept asking this and that, "What did you usually eat? Did you dress well? Are you cold?"

Clara's eyes were misty with tears as she softly said, "Mom, I'm doing well. I ate well, I ate all the food that Susie usually gave me... It's July 14th, the gates of hell are open, and I just came up today... I even had the six-shrimp noodles, grilled honeycomb, and deep-fried ice nuggets that Jonathan made."

"The milk-flavored deep-fried ice nuggets have a unique taste, and there's also salmon that I haven't eaten before..."

Mrs. Alana laughed and cried, "What else do you want to eat? Mom will make it for you."

Clara originally said she didn't need it, she was already full.

But after thinking about it, she still acted like a spoiled child and said, "Mom, I want to eat your braised lion head with spicy flavor!"

"And pickled chicken feet! I want the kind that toothless old ladies have gnawed on!"

Mrs. Alana was taken aback and couldn't help but chuckle, her laughter mixed with tears.

She remembered when Clara was young and said she wanted to eat boneless pickled chicken feet.

She kept telling her that it wasn't delicious, and the reason why they were boneless was because toothless old ladies had gnawed on them.

She didn't expect Clara to still remember!

Mrs. Alana wiped away the tears in her eyes and said, "Alright, Mom will make it for you. I knew you wanted to eat something spicy, but because of your illness, you weren't allowed to eat it. Are you really craving it?"

Clara was like a little girl, holding onto Mrs. Alana's arm and refusing to let go, obediently nodding her head, "Mm-hmm, I dreamt about it! I'm really craving it!"

Mrs. Alana's heart felt sour, but she finally had another chance to make a meal for her most beloved daughter.

She didn't seem to dare to ask for anything else.

Mr. Craig remained standing in his original position.

Clara turned around and waved, "Dad, don't stay cooped up in the room! Come down quickly!"

Mr. Craig's lips twitched, and he finally said a few words, "Ah... all right."

He followed closely behind, his eyes fixed on Clara without blinking.

He never dreamed when he slept.

For a moment, he couldn't tell if what he was seeing was real or a dream.

If it was a dream, he was afraid he would wake up suddenly if he walked too fast or made too much noise with his footsteps.

Clara held Mrs. Alana's arm, with Mr. Craig following behind, and they went downstairs together.

The first floor, which had been quite lively, suddenly became somewhat quiet.

Martin put down his tablet and stopped looking at the data and emails on it.

David was checking Lucy's homework and quickly covered it up.

Clara's several brothers, who had seen her last night, showed no initial shock, only reluctance to part.

However, the other three...

Paul was holding a piece of fruit, his mouth gaping in shock, and the fruit fell out of his hand!

Judah rubbed his eyes vigorously, while Huck suddenly stood up and stared at Clara as if she were a ghost.

The adults suddenly fell silent, and Wade couldn't help but look up, only to see his aunt, whom he mostly only saw in photos, floating down from upstairs.

He was so frightened that he sat on the ground, and there happened to be a building block on the ground, which hurt him and made him jump up again.

Zion stared blankly at the white figure, his eyes saying, "I know this person, but who is it?"

His mind was like a computer that had crashed.

Lucy and Hamza wore a look of confusion.

What's going on? What's happening?

Have they all been struck with the Point acupuncture technique?

Susie put down her toys and ran over, happily asking, "Grandma Chloe, where are you going?"

Mrs. Alana held her hand and said, "To make spicy lion's head meatballs for your mother, and boneless spicy pickled chicken feet."

Susie's eyes lit up and she raised her hand, saying, "Susie wants to eat too!"

Martin walked over and asked with a lowered gaze, "Spicy, can you handle it?"

Susie replied, "Yes, I can!"

She wanted to try the foods her mother liked so that in the future, she could eat many things her mother liked for her.

So, the several brothers who had just finished eating stood up again, one chopping meat, one preparing the chicken feet, and one looking for pickled peppers.

After the chicken feet were boiled and cooled, they used scissors to debone them.

Paul, Judah, and Huck stood foolishly at the kitchen door, with thunder rolling in their heads and the door to a new world being blasted open by lightning.

In this world... there really are ghosts?

"Clara..." Paul murmured softly.

If they could see their sister... then what if it overturned the world as he knew it?
