Zachariah
Susie went on this trip as if it were a dream, and when she woke up, it was the next morning.
After a nap, my body felt refreshed, except for the depletion of lunar power. There was no sense of drowsiness.
As usual, I was caught by my grandmother and stuffed with food.
At noon, Martin came back and Susie was helping her grandmother pack things. When she saw Martin, she exclaimed in surprise.
"Uncle Martin, how did you come back?"
Martin sat down and said, "Susie, don't go back to Rainbow, just transfer back."
Susie wondered, "What happened?"
Martin said, "Do you remember Zachariah?"
Susie: "Uh!"
I remembered, but I hadn't thought of it before.
Martin indulgently patted her head and said, "It's not Susie's fault, Susie is also a busy person."
Susie felt embarrassed and asked, "What happened, old friend?"
Martin nodded, "He has been going abroad for the past few years, and Uncle Martin originally thought that he was going abroad for some kind of development or career."
"I just learned today that he is going back to his home country. He went abroad before for medical treatment."
Susie quickly sat up straight and asked, "Did our old friend get sick?"
Martin nodded and said, "It couldn't be cured, so I came back."
Susie asked, "What illness?"
She began to feel a little worried, but mostly guilty.
Strictly speaking, the old friend was also another master to her, who taught her how to paint in this journey of life.
Although she hadn't painted for a long time, she mostly doodled in her textbooks.
I suddenly felt very sorry for my old friend...
Martin said, "It is a relatively rare disease called syringomyelia. He discovered it when he accidentally cut his hand while sharpening a pencil and was unaware of it."
This disease is generally more common congenital, while it is rarer for it to occur later in life.
It is usually manifested as unilateral or bilateral reduction or loss of pain and temperature sensation in the upper limbs. In severe cases, the hands may be burned or cut without being aware of it, accompanied by numbness, stiffness, and atrophy.
Zachariah had hemiplegia and couldn't even hold a paintbrush. He traveled from America to another country, but unfortunately, his condition couldn't be cured.
Susie nodded and said, "That old friend has come back, I'll go see him."
Because of Zachariah, Susie did not return to Rainbow.
Alana didn't mention anything about moving, even though there were some daily necessities, but they could all be easily replaced.
Some valuable and meaningful items, Ada just needs to go back and get them.
As for the house?
The Murray family was not short of money, so there was no need to sell the house. They decided to leave it vacant, just in case Susie needed a temporary place to stay there someday.
This matter was decided like this.
Zachariah returned to his home country the next day, and Susie had already gone to the airport with Uncle Ryan to pick him up.
These past two days, Ryan took a break from work and took the opportunity to come with Susie. He claimed to be a doctor and offered to help with any medical issues.
"Uncle Ryan, can't spinal cord cavities really be treated?" Susie worried.
Ryan said, "It was difficult to treat, and the illness lasted for a long time."
Susie thought to herself, "When I see my old friend, let's see if she can help me with anything!"
At this moment, the crowd inside the airport increased. The passengers of this flight were coming out. Susie stretched her neck and saw an old man sitting in a wheelchair, being pushed out by someone.
He had changed a lot from Susie's memory of him, his whole demeanor was not good, he had lost a lot of weight, and most importantly, he couldn't shake off that sense of despair.
"Old friend!" Susie shouted and ran over.
Zachariah paused for a moment and then exclaimed in surprise, "Oh, it's Susie!"
Since falling ill, he had almost forgotten about his disciple...
The disciples who closed the door completely forgot, and it was all the author's fault.
Susie guiltily said, "I'm sorry, old friend. It was all Susie's fault. Susie forgot about the teacher."
Zachariah smiled gently and said, "It's okay, my old friend... I forgot about Susie too!"
